The Jim Corbett National Park is situated at an approximate distance of 260 Kms from the National Capital Delhi. The small town near Corbett is Ramnagar which forms the headquarters of CTR. The city is well connected by road or rail with major cities of India like Moradabad, Nainital, Bareilly and Delhi.
Best Travelled by Road: The small city Ramnagar has a very good road network that connects the different cities of India. Uttarakhand state government buses ply at a short interval of time from Delhi, Moradabad, Haldwani that reaches directly Ramnagar. Corbett is only 15 Kms from Ramnagar town. The surface drive from Delhi to Corbett takes approximate five and half hours.
Delhi-Gajrola-Moradabad-Kashipur-Ramnagar: (240 km)
Bareilly-Kichha-Haldwani-Ramnagar: (160 km)
Best Time for Weddings: November to March
The park is kept closed as the monsoon season approaches. The main reason for closure of the park during rest of the year is that the roads inside the park get washed away due to rain. The repair work starts after the monsoon and ends only by November till the roads are back in motorable condition.

The Sariska National Park snuggled in the Aravali Hills and lying in the district of Alwar, Sariska is a very famous tourist destination located in the India state of Rajasthan. The park encompasses a sprawling area of 800 square kilometers and is the abode of a range of diverse flora, fauna and avifauna. The region is mainly famous for the Sariska Tiger Reserve. This is a great place for wildlife and adventure lovers.

Location– This sanctuary is situated in the district of Alwar in Rajasthan and lies about 110 km from Jaipur.
Best Travelled by Road: Sariska wildlife sanctuary is situated off the Delhi-Alwar-Jaipur Road.Alwar is 36 kms, Delhi is 200 kms, Jaipur is 101 kms from Sariska.Rajasthan Roadways run very comfortable deluxe buses from Jaipur. Regular services link Alwar with key destinations in and not far off Rajasthan and Delhi. The roads are very good, and it takes around 3-4 hrs from Jaipur.Tourist can also hire taxis to travel by road to Sariska.
By Train: Nearest railway station is Alwar which is 37 Kms from Sariska.
Best time for Weddings: October to March.

Start planning for a Destination Wedding in Sariska atleast 6 months ahead of the Wedding Date.
Apart from the varied array of flora and fauna, there are also other attractions in the Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary consisting of- the Kankwari Fort, Ancient Shiva Temples & the Great Sariska Palace.
Ask your wedding planner to arrange for Jeep safaris & Elephant rides I the reserve for guests during non-ceremonial hours.
Plan adventure activities during Pre-Wedding functions to add more fun to the festivities.
Some of the main transport options around the reserve are jeeps safaris and elephant rides. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the Tiger Reserve, and this is one point to note while taking up a trip to Sariska.

After getting a few queries and missing out few clients to be…I was compelled to do a research and write this post. When expectations for Udaipur, Jaipur & Goa were high, I was amazed to get queries over mails and phone calls for wedding destinations in Haryana. Most of those queries were from New Delhi/NCR. People inquired about Picturesque Destinations, Heritages & more…and I could do little to help them find suitable Wedding Destinations in Haryana.
Well never thought so deeply about this that Haryana could be one amongst weddings destinations in India. But who would not want an inquiry to turn up as a client! So after a humble research I had listed 3 Destinations in Haryana that can do justice to Destination Weddings and obviously this post is for all those who are looking out to inquire for wedding Destinations in Haryana.

1) Manesar
Even After visiting the popular Damdama Lake, I never thought of Manesar being a Wedding Destination. But my research on this location caught the fact that Manesar can actually prove as a Wedding Destination and with time it will grow any may become one of the popular Wedding Destinations of India.

About a 2 hour journey from the National Capital, Manesar is a fast developing industrial town situated in Gurgaon district of Haryana. Located near the city of Gurgaon, Manesar enjoys heavy influx of tourists all round the year. Manesar is located on NH 8 and it is well connected to major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, etc. Situated on the lower Aravalli Ranges, Manesar lies on a hilltop. Besides the idyllic beauty of the Aravalli Ranges, Manesar has many places of tourist interest

2) Morni Hills
The only hill station in Haryana. Heard about it a while ago from a friend, never thought it could be amongst the wedding destinations in India. Many times I had passed by the roads of this city, never a thought crossed my mind of imagining Karnal as a Wedding Destination in Haryana. My research took me to a world in this city which I never thought was existing. And now I know why I am suggesting this as a Wedding Destination.
a) Popular Culture
Karnal, is one of the oldest districts of Haryana. The city has gained importance since Mahabharata era. The city is known as a walled town. Some of the dignitaries have their association with the city of Karnal. Not to forget ,Late Dr. Kalpana Chawla, an Indian-American scientist and NASA astronaut was born in a Punjabi Hindu family at Model Town, Karnal.
b) Destination Weddings
About 2 hour journey from the national capital, Karnal houses beautiful heritage castles which are now transformed into luxury hotels and 5* Resorts with dignified picturesque backdrops. Karnal is developing as a popular destination for Royal weddings given to its importance by the NRI’s and the affluent from Delhi/NCR who are flocking with their families to celebrate a dignified wedding in the Heritage Castles. A grand wedding can be celebrated in these castles which can match up to the weddings celebrated in Udaipur & Jaipur in Rajasthan.

For Example: If the couple is a resident of North India and wish to celebrate their wedding in the backwaters of Kerala. It is really important for the couple to understand the Pro’s & Con’s of hosting their wedding at this level of proximity. However a couple can celebrate their Destination Wedding anywhere in India according to their wish, but making a wise decision in this could be better paid –off.
2) Climatic variations of the Season
Season is another criterion when planning a Destination Wedding in India. Climatic conditions may differ from place to place in different seasons. For Example: If a couple is planning to celebrate their wedding in the Musoorie Hills in the month of July or August, which are noted period for monsoons, may not be a proper season of hosting the wedding. Even if the wedding functions are arranged in the banquet of a Hotel/Resort, the charm of Destination wedding is lost, if the celebrations could not be planned outdoor amidst the backdrop of the hills.

Your guest list may range from minimum 50 to 150 people maximum.However you can also invite more guests if you are willing to spend more on the logistics of the planning as well as paying your wedding planner well so that they can handle more pressure.
4)A 4* Property cannot be hired at the price of a 2* for Guest Accomodation
A Destination Wedding can be only celebrated in a Hotel/Resort that has ample space for hosting wedding functions at ease. A hotel/resort with lawns, terrace gardens, pool areas are much appreciated in such cases. Anyhow a couple has to choose from 3*/4*/5* properties for these functions as 2* properties might not have such facilities. A couple can arrange accommodation for their guests in many ways. For Example:A couple can choose from 3*/4* or even 5* properties for guest accommodation, if they are willing to spend. For couples who are on a classified budget can choose from 2* properties to accommodate their guests and host functions at 5* properties close by.
*If hiring a wedding planner to make such arrangements couples should be clear with their choices. For Example: Do not expect a planner to get a 4* property at the price of a 2*. This is a misconception that a planner can get everything done at the best price or more frankly ‘low price’. Couples shall understand that best price doesn’t mean buying diamond at the price of silver. It is true that a planner can arrange things at a better pricing, but not at the cost of their own pocket. No Hotel/Resort shall compromise with the pricing at a risk of loss. Planners can’t accommodate extra guests for FREE unless they own the hotel/resort.*
6)Co-operation of Couples at times of Contingency
Whether or not you have a wedding planner on board, Destination Wedding planning is a much stressful task. Your wedding planner is a guide, support & shield to all the assistance you need and the stress you feel in planning your Destination Wedding. They take-off the burden of stress from your shoulders so that you relax and enjoy the festivities. Right from the site-inspection to preparation of your guest lists, booking hotel/resorts at the destination of your choice, receiving your guests, planning for the wedding functions, planning for décor, F&B, Entertainment, transportation, a wedding planner spends sleepless nights so that every arrangement of the wedding functions are near to perfect. Couples shall cooperate with the planner in the cases of contingency. For Example: An unexpected rainfall in the month of December when planning a sangeet ceremony in the open lawn of a palace in Rajasthan is not a planner’s fault. In such cases cooperation of couples are expected and appreciated.
7)Balancing the Budget in accordance with requirements
The most important criterion that relates to all the above mentioned norms. The budget of a Destination Wedding shall depend on the choice of destination & requirements made by the couple. For Example: one cannot expect a palace wedding in Rajasthan with over 150 guests and 3 days festivities at a limited budget of RS 30 LACS per se. Couples need to compromise on either of their guest list or limit the days of festivities or their choice of accommodation to match the budget. Couples shall proceed with their requirements of their choice of Destination, accommodation, number of guests, planning & logistics only after having a comprehensible idea of their wedding budget.
This does not mean affordability in anyway. For Example: If a couple has a Budget of RS 10lacs for a Himalayan wedding in Shimla, they need to understand the limitations of the requirements scaling with the budget.
