Recently, we have been getting inquiries on cruise destination wedding, so we decided to do a decent research and partnered with a luxury cruise line and here we are with this post on cruise destination wedding cost. This post is basically about organizing a wedding on a cruise sailing within the Indian subcontinent specifically, within Mumbai and Goa. This post shall deliver decent information about itinerary, services and most importantly cruise destination wedding cost!

You would anyways get know about the features of the cruise when you decide to host your wedding there, so we will not bore you with that now, instead our post shall focus on organizing the wedding on the cruise. So here we go…

BRIDAL PARTY & GUESTS

You may host an intimate wedding with 100 guests or an elaborate wedding with 1000 guests – the cruise line has the capacity to accommodate the guest number of your choice.

TRAVEL TO CRUISE

Cruise is parked at the Green Gate Port in Mumbai, India. So your guests from Mumbai can take a cab to the port and those who are traveling from other cities or abroad can arrive via airways to the CS International airport and take a cab to the port. Mumbai is well connected with other cities by railways too.

CRUISE ITINERARY

Presently we are sharing 2 types of itinerary, 2 nights and 3 nights respectively

  1. MUMBAI -SEA – MUMBAI : This is a 2 night duration itinerary. Day 1: The ship starts boarding passengers from 3pm and the boarding continues till 8pm. The ship starts to sail at 9pm and is at the sea the whole night. So your guests may start checking in, enjoy lunch or snacking, explore the cruise and enjoy a pre wedding function hosted in the dine in theatre. Day 2: The ship is at the sea whole day and night. So you may choose to host your wedding function this day during lunch or dinner time or may also host an after party at a designated area. Day 3: The ship arrives at Mumbai at 8 am in the morning.
  2. MUMBAI – GOA – MUMBAI: This is a 3 night duration itinerary. Day 1: The ship starts boarding passengers from 11am and the boarding continues till 6:30pm. The ship starts to sail at 8pm and is at the sea the whole night. So your guests may start checking in, enjoy lunch or snacking, explore the cruise and enjoy a pre wedding function hosted in the dine in theatre. Day 2: The ship arrives at Goa Mormugao at 12 noon, so you could have the whole day to your excursion in Goa before departing at 9:30pm in the night. Day 3: The ship is at the sea, so you may choose to have your wedding function during the lunch or dinner time.Day 3: The ship arrives at Mumbai at 6 am in the morning.

Please Note: The cruise reserves the right to change the itinerary duration, so you may have select your wedding dates accordingly.

Ocean view rooms, State rooms and Suites – you may choose from these category of rooms to accommodate your guests

FOOD & BEVERAGE

All day dining restaurants serving Pan Asian cuisine, from home style curries and breads to salads and soups, there’s food for every mood. The restaurants are open 21 hours, so you enjoy your favorite comfort food with good music in a chic ambience. Pre – wedding and wedding feast meals could be arranged on special request and price.

Lunch and Dinner menu grid may comprise what’s below:

2 Soup (02 Veg) , 4 Starters, 3 Option in Starch (Rice) & Assorted Rotis 1 Dal , 05 Veg Mains, Chef’s choice – Pasta , 3 Continental Starch (03 Veg), Chinese (Rice / Noodles/ Gravy), 3 Salads & Condiments, 4 Indian Desserts , 4 Euro dessert , Assorted fruits

This is an essential and also adds up to your cruise destination wedding cost. The cruise can make a basic arrangement of floras and props at an extra cost. However they allow to get your own event decorator on board. You may consult your wedding planner for decor plans on the cruise.
The cruise offers entertainment programs at their theatre. For exclusive services of DJ, dancers, musicians etc you may consult your wedding planner.

Garvit & Tanya wedding in Rohtak

A regal wedding in Rohtak planned amidst the pandemic!!!

Tanya contacted us online to plan a mountain destination wedding in Shimla. Meanwhile the pandemic arrived in India and the destination wedding plan had to take a back seat but Tanya didn’t give up. She collected all her enthusiasm and planned a regal wedding in Rohtak. Though Rohtak is Garvit’s hometown, Tanya and her family traveled from Allahabad and enjoyed the feel of a destination wedding.

Celebrations started with a traditional haldi ceremony following a classic sangeet night on the first day and rolled over with the tilak ceremony and wedding ceremony on the final day. Tanya planned everything beautifully and took utmost care to ensure safety of her guests so they could enjoy her special day amidst the pandemic.

Garvit and Tanya are college sweethearts. Both of them are successful engineers working in Bangalore. While Garvit has a cool personality, Tanya has an enchanting one. Their personalities make them a perfectly balanced couple.

We are happy to have met Garvit and Tanya and grateful that they have made us a part of their big day. Planning & Coordinating their wedding in Rohtak was an experience for us and we wish them happiness ever after.

Private properties shall have either one or two venue options to host wedding related functions. Venue charges might not apply incase you buyout the property for a certain duration. However if they have bigger venues, then they might charge a considerable amount.

FOOD

Breakfast is included in room tariff in most of the star properties, so you pay for another 2 meals and a snack, i.e. Lunch, Dinner & Hi-Tea respectively. Here is the breakdown on per person basis…

  • 5 Star Property: Lunch: INR 3000 + GST onwards, Dinner: INR 4000 + GST onwards, Hi-Tea: INR 1500 + GST onwards. Wedding Feast: Lunch or Dinner: INR 4500 + GST onwards.

The cost mentioned above would be applicable for veg/non-veg meals. The cost per person of wedding feast may depend on the elaborate menu. You may also request DIY snack stalls or BBQ by paying extra charges.

At Private Venues: You may be permitted to bring your own caterer and liquor for functions against a charge. However this is not universal.

LIQUOR

Corkage is not allowed at most of the properties, so you may have to buy liquor from hotel. You may have options of packages and payment. You may have to pay INR 3500 + GST onwards per person for IMFL Liquor served for 3-4 Hours. For foreign liquor or any other special requests, you may have to pay in advance to the hotel. The best is to pay on per bottle consumed.

DÉCOR

  • •Male/Female Anchor: To engage your guests, you have to hire good looking and appealing hosts. So the need of a standard Anchor/Male comes at a cost of INR 10K + GST onwards. However you may hire celebrity Anchor/Male who hosts fashion events, bollywood events at a cost of INR 30K + Taxes onwards. Female/Anchors are expensive you may have to shell out INR 15K + GST onwards for a standard and INR 40K + GST onwards for celebrity anchors. Also, you may note that you may have to bear the expenses of travel/food/stay of these artists, if they are not sourced locally.
  • •Mehendi Artiste: So, this is the most important service for any mehendi function and costs may vary. For bridal henna full hands/legs costs starts from INR 10K + GST onwards, whereas for individual guests cost starts from INR 2K + GST onwards, per guest.
  • •Lady singers with Dholki: A group of 6 ladies may come at a cost of around INR 25K + GST onwards

WEDDING FUNCTION

  • Groom Procession in Elephant/vintage car: Groom entry shall be the highlight of the wedding. Nothing could be more enchanting than a groom procession in a decorated elephant. A vintage car entry along with spectacular dhol players would be another delightful entry of the groom as the emperor. This service may cost INR 50K + GST onwards.
  • Bride Entry in Palanquin with traditional folk dance: A bride may enter the wedding venue in a decorated palanquin followed by a folk dance performance specially choreographed for the entry. Could cost around INR 45K + GST onwards.
  • Jaimala: A decorated Stage with confetti showers, 2 flower garlands, along with back ground music may cost around INR 30K + GST. If you wish for some more effects like a hydraulic stage with cold showers, fireworks etc then costs may start from INR 50K + GST onwards.

PHOTOGRAPHY + VIDEOGRAPHY

This is the most important service NOT ONLY for the brides but for the grooms as well.  But then, the charming service which helps you doll up for your bid day comes with a price tag! Now let’s evaluate the cost for this service:

  • •Bridal Make up & Hair do: INR 25K + GST onwards for the bride on her wedding day, includes, make up, hair do, draping etc.
  • •Pre Wedding Function Make up for Bride: INR 20K + GST onwards per pre wedding function includes, make up, hair do, draping etc.
  • Groom Make up + Hair: INR 5K + GST onwards for the bride on her wedding day, includes, make up, hair do, draping etc
  • •Pre Wedding Function Make up for Groom: INR 3K + GST onwards per pre wedding function includes, make up, hair do, draping etc.
  • •Make Up/ Touch up, per guest: INR 2.5K + GST onwards for per pre wedding/ wedding function includes, make up, hair do, draping etc.

Also, you may note that you may have to bear the expenses of travel/food/stay of these artists, if they are not sourced locally.

LOGISTICS

An important aspect which cannot be overlooked while comprehending the cost of beach wedding in Chennai. Travel to the destination is generally paid by the guests themselves so I would skip this part. Travel within the destination which could be anything like airport/ station transfers, hotel to venue travel or going sightseeing. So the costs would be somewhat around the following:

  • •Luxury Bus, 49 seater: INR 25K + GST onwards for 8hours, cost may not depend on KMs in this case.
  • •AC coaches, 12 seater: INR 10K + GST onwards for 8hours, cost may depend on KMs or Hours, whichever is greater.
  • •AC Car 5-8 seater: INR 3K + GST onwards for 8hours, cost may depend on KMs or Hours, whichever is greater
  • •Vintage Car: INR 10K + GST onwards for 5hours maximum.

So technically, you pay depending on your schedule and requirement.

MORE SERVICES MORE COSTS

Apart from the essentials, if you wish for some extra services, you would have to set your budget accordingly. You could add any of the following or other services of your choice to your requirement and budget list. Say…

Puppet shows, Folk music players, Caricature artists, live bangle makers, fire jugglers, tattoo artists, comedian and the list is endless.

Now that you know that without a Wedding Planner, planning a destination wedding is almost impossible, you should also know that Wedding Planning is a Service and your wedding planner with team add up to your wedding budget.

So let’s now comprehend the cost of a wedding planner.

So a wedding planner may charge you any one of the two ways:

  • •Percentage (%) of Wedding Budget: A planner may charge a certain percentage of amount as their fee depending on the size of the wedding budget. Likely to be around 10-25% of the total wedding budget.
  • Fixed Fee: Most common fee structure of startup wedding planning ventures, they charge a fixed fee depending on the services and the responsibilities they undertake to make your Big Day special.

The choice completely depends on you and your capacity of expenditures.

LIQUOR

WEDDING FUNCTION
  • Groom Procession in horse/vintage car: Groom entry shall be the highlight of the wedding. Ranjani contacted us online from New Zealand and after 18 months of detailed planning  – we finally presented Ranjani and Matt Wedding in Hyderabad.
