A Grand Destination Wedding in Radisson Jodhpur Rajasthan!
One amongst the spectacular destination wedding’s ever organized by our team where we had great fun and fantastic experience! And this is how it all started…
Ranjani contacted us by submitting the inquiry form on our website to understand the process of planning a destination wedding in Rajasthan. After a couple of email exchange, we met Ranjani and Upeshka over a video call, both live in the USA and wanted to plan their destination wedding in Rajasthan. Many of their guests would be visiting India for the first time, hence they wanted to discuss ideas to make it a special experience for them. We attended to them and answered their queries comprehensively which impressed them and they promptly signed us as their wedding planner and the rest is history!
Ranjani (Jagannath) has her roots in the south of India and is a successful corporate lawyer by profession and Upeshka (De Silva) is a popular Srilankan-American professional poker player and a three time world series of poker bracelet winner. While both are settled in the USA, they are fond of the ancient heritage of India, which inspired them to host their wedding in Rajasthan.
Wedding Venue and Welcome
We got onto our job immediately post signing up and after a thorough research we finalized The Radisson Jodhpur as the wedding venue. Heritage style with modern facilities, Pure Vegetarian food, outdoor and Indoor venues, proximity to nearest airport- this wedding in Radisson Jodhpur Rajasthan was just meat to be. More than 60% of the wedding guests where foreigners and were visiting India for the first time from ten different countries over the world. Our traditional Rajasthani style welcome with local music, aarti, tikka and fresh flower garlands impressed the guests, Here’s a glimpse
Welcome Party with Hi Tea
The first event of Ranjani and Upeshka in Radisson Jodhpur Rajasthan welcomed the wedding guests at the hotel’s Plume Lounge with the vibes of the royal culture – beautiful decoration in blue color theme, as Jodhpur is fondly known as and Rajasthani folk music and dance performance and a scrumptious snack. The guests also received a traditional hamper as a token of welcome.
Mehendi
With vibrant color drape decoration, artefacts, flowers, candles, fairy lighting, the mehendi night was a colorful extravaganza. The bangle maker stall, local gift stalls and street food stations were already adding a carnival vibe. The evening unfolded with the couple making an entry in a decorated rickshaw – pretty much fun! Followed by song performances by bride’s best friend and Aunt. The emcee played the shoe game with the couple, followed by a dance competition between bride and groom’s friends before the floor was open for everyone for DJ dancing!
Wedding
A South Indian style morning wedding wouldn’t have been this charming before! Upeshka rode a vintage car along with his groomsmen to the wedding venue and all the baraati’s danced to the beats of dhol, while Ranjani enjoyed watching all the fun from her Jharokha window. The groom and baraatis were welomed at the wedding venue by the bride’s father in traditional south Indian style. Ranjani walked down the aisle under the flower chaadar with her bridesmaid following her. The fragrance of fresh mogra flowers and the chants of marriage mantras made it a divine ambience!
Reception
Rajwada style grand decorations with lighting and six course sit down English dinner made a charismatically unique combination of Indo – American style wedding reception. The evening unfolded with the grand welcome of the newly married couple with fireworks followed by Speeches from the maid of honor and best man. Dinner, cake cutting, champagne toast and first dance before the couple open the floor for the guests!
Ranjani and Upeshka are our super organized and calmest client. Not only they supported us in every step of planning, they cared for and treated us like their own family. We are also thankful to Varshini (bride’s sister) Jagannath Rao Sir (bride’s father) and Chitrani ma’am (Groom’s mother) for their warmth and support for our team. Can’t thank the couple enough for the cheering video review for our team! January 20th, 2025 will be amongst our favorite event dates!
